The Akela Cove Community has a total of 108 homes and is easily accessible to Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem. The Homeowner’s Association (HOA) includes 5 Board Members. The HOA is tasked with maintaining the quality and value of the community, keeping owners informed, and holding community events. The community is currently managed by Lambeth Management.
Akela Cove is part of the James Landing Property Owners Association (POA) The POA also includes 4 other communities – The Peninsula, Yorktown Pointe, The Highlands, Barrington Place, and commercial properties including Lowe’s Foods, Guilford Crossing retail stores, Daycare Center, CVS, The Rush fitness center, and Crowne Lake Apartments. The POA is responsible for the upkeep of the sign(s) at Piedmont and Wendover, landscaping along Piedmont Parkway, and the upkeep of the ponds and dams between our neighborhood and the Crowne Lake Apartments.
Originally, the property served as a Boy Scout Camp before becoming home to the James Landing communities. This is not hard to believe with the huge trees and picturesque scenes throughout the neighborhood.
